Volunteer Opportunities
The Phillips-Strickland House Corporation consists of more than 160 Volunteer Corporators, including 12 members of the Board of Directors. Board meetings held bimonthly. There are several committees that meet frequently and report to the Board. Management of Phillips-Strickland and the employment of a full-time staff adequate to provide care for all residents is the Executive Director/Administrator’s responsibility.
There are many ways to volunteer at PSH. The first step to volunteering is to contact Linda Nickerson, Activity Director, and Volunteer Coordinator. You may call her at 207-941-2820 or email her at [email protected].
A volunteer application required for anyone interested in spending time with our seniors. Once you fill out the application, Linda contacts you for an interview. Please note that we perform background checks on all prospective volunteers.
Current Volunteer Openings
Volunteers assist with daily activities that include exercise, reading groups, and more. We also have many opportunities for volunteers to get to know our residents on a one-on-one basis. Simply visiting and sharing conversations are essential to our residents.
