The Phillips-Strickland House resulted from the merger in 1976 of the Home for aged Women (est. 1872) and the Home for Aged Men (est. 1903). The legacy of providing services to the elderly is a long one.
We certainly cannot continue this legacy without the additional support from people like you. Approximately 85% of our residents are provided support from Medicaid. Although this helps provide for a base level of services, it doesn’t cover the additional services to make a resident’s daily experience fulfilling.
Thankfully, a number of dedicated volunteers give of their time and talents to assist, comfort or just coax a smile. Would you please help us continue in this endeavor. Our residents depend on the continued generosity within the community to make every day a good day.
